Maryland August Casino Revenue Up 20%
The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission posted on Friday information about the revenue generated by the state’s five casinos in August. Including Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, which opened doors on August 26, 2014, all five gambling venues within Maryland’s borders posted overall revenue of $96.7 million, up 20% year-on-year.
Excluding proceeds from the aforementioned casino, revenue dropped 7.6% from August 2014. The decrease was attributed to market shares changes that took place after the venue was launched.
Hollywood Casino Perryville reported monthly revenue of $6.6 million, down 10.8% year-on-year. In August, the casino featured a total of 850 slot machines, 12 banking table games, and 10 non-banking ones. Daily revenue per slot amounted to $211.12. Banking table games generated an average of $2,429.70 per day. And non-banking ones generated an average of $292.93 per day.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore’s August proceeds amounted to $27.6 million. The gambling venue offered 2,200 slot machines, 153 banking tables, and 25 non-banking ones last month. Average daily revenue per slot totaled $191.84. Banking table games generated an average of $2,865.12 per day. Non-banking ones posted average daily revenue of $1,141.70.
Maryland Live! Casino in Anne Arundel County was the state’s top performer in August, although monthly proceeds decreased 9.1% year-on-year to $52.1 million. The casino ran 4,059 slot machines, 150 banking tables, and 52 non-banking ones last month. Slots generated an average of $278.83 per unit per day. Average daily revenue from banking table games amounted to $3,199.41. Non-banking table games posted average daily revenue of $1,326.39.
Casino at Ocean Downs in Worcester County generated a total of $6.1 million last month, up 2.3% as compared to the figures posted for the same month a year ago. The casino operated 800 slot machines and no table games. Revenue per unit per day totaled $244.88.
Revenue at Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Allegany County increased 3.6% year-on-year to reach $4.4 million in August. The gambling venue operated a total of 627 slot machines, 16 table games, and 2 non-banking ones. Revenue per slot per day totaled $196.03. Banking table games generated an average of $1,154.36 per day. As for non-banking games, average daily revenue from those amounted to $251.58.
